When God Says Wait

When God says wait. He isn't saying it just for the sake of the waiting. You'll grow in the process. You'll see the beautiful things about yourself, as well as many other things that aren't as pretty as you thought they were.

You'll see yourself through the eyes of someone who loves you more deeply than anyone can.

You'll see the that the hidden secrets that have held you captive don't have to anymore. No matter how ugly they make you feel.

You'll see that your pain isn't meaningless after all & you're not the only one who has this struggle.

You'll find comfort when you realize that no one needs you act a certain way to be free from whatever it is that is driving you insane. Because true love is unconditional. Be yourself. Because love doesn't lie. Love knows you are hurting and wants to be right there beside you.

Life Lessons from Coffee Chats

Today I had an unnamed person (we’ll call Jane) ask me if I wanted coffee. At first, I kindly declined. A little while later she asked me a 2nd time. However, this time I could tell she wanted more than me to just have a cup of coffee. ☕️ She wanted me to spend the time with her it took to drink that cup of coffee to talk with me. To ask me questions, learn about something she had been wondering about and gain better insight into a particular situation. I think that’s why in the American culture when someone asks us to coffee, it’s either a quick yes or no answer because maybe we don’t want to spend time asking deeper questions of someone. Our motivations might be different in each scenario but what if we said yes to coffee more often even if it’s not convenient for us? We might have assumptions or fears surrounding the other person’s motives. However, there’s no better way to gain clarity about them than asking vs assuming. Trust me. Honor: Verb: regard with great respect To be honest, I wasn’t ready sure what to write about this week. Everyone is talking about New Years resolutions, goals they’re setting, & what they want to do with the time they have this year. Then it got me to thinking. What if we make resolutions to leave others better off than we find them? If they mistreat us, let’s teach them how to treat us right. If they do good to us, let’s applaud them. It won’t be easy, but if we do it together & give it our best, we all will be better for it. Reminder: 9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
