About Me

Hi all! Now that I've been writing for awhile, you're probably wondering who in the world I am & why I sign things " 💞 K" when that's not in the blog title. I came up with this blog title because the word Belle means beauty. I want every girl who reads what I write to know that they are a beauties, too!

As for the K, it's the first letter of my name. For those of you that don't already know, I'll leave the guessing up to you. 😊

Another "fun fact" about me that some of my readers don't know about me, is that I have Cerebral Palsy, or CP for short. This comes in many forms and each form affects each person differently. So, if you find something on the web about CP, don't assume that every aspect affects me. ☺️

I am currently a college student working on my associates of arts. The plan is to be a grad next year 🙌🏻.  Fun fact: I was homeschooled all the way from kindergarten through high school. I graduated with core 40 honors and didn't decide my major in college until last year.

💞 K

Real Talk - Honor

Honor: Verb: regard with great respect  To be honest, I wasn’t ready sure what to write about this week. Everyone is talking about New Years resolutions, goals they’re setting, & what they want to do with the time they have this year.  Then it got me to thinking. What if we make resolutions to leave others better off than we find them? If they mistreat us, let’s teach them how to treat us right. If they do good to us, let’s applaud them.  It won’t be easy, but if we do it together & give it our best, we all will be better for it.  Reminder:  9  Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast  to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor . Romans 2:9-10 ESV Challenge:  Choose 1 person this week to honor.

Life Lessons from Coffee Chats

Today I had an unnamed person (we’ll call Jane) ask me if I wanted coffee. At first, I kindly declined. A little while later she asked me a 2nd time. However, this time I could tell she wanted more than me to just have a cup of coffee. ☕️  She wanted me to spend the time with her it took to drink that cup of coffee to talk with me. To ask me questions, learn about something she had been wondering about and gain better insight into a particular situation.  I think that’s why in the American culture when someone asks us to coffee, it’s either a quick yes or no answer because maybe we don’t want to spend time asking deeper questions of someone.  Our motivations might be different in each scenario but what if we said yes to coffee more often even if it’s not convenient for us? We might have assumptions or fears surrounding the other person’s motives. However, there’s no better way to gain clarity about them than asking vs assuming.  Trust me. It’s wayyyy easier said tha...

Interview - Cristabelle Braden

Brain injury survivor Cristabelle Braden talks hop, inspiration, & everyday life!  About Cristabelle After my brain injury I basically had to re-learn almost everything - taking a shower, getting myself dressed, dealing with short-term memory loss, muscle atrophy, losing my vocabulary & conversation skills..    just to name a few. Honestly the only thing that kept me going was my faith in God, reminding myself that He has a plan, He loves me, and that He’s working even when I can’t see it. And now, He has healed me beyond any doctors or anyone’s expectations! They didn’t think I’d even be able to finish high school, but now I’ve graduated college! So when I have tough days I just remind myself that God is truly a God of miracles… that He is my strength, I can depend on Him in all of my weakest moments. What got you started in music? I’ve been singing since I was a little kid, but I started writing music after my brain injury! It was through t...
